In the coming days, Prof. Bandyopadhyay and his team wish to investigate on the crucial molecular mechanism(s) associated with the protective functions of melatonin in different stressful situations. This ranges from exploring the potency of melatonin in conditions where diabetes and obesity together pose a key threat to the cardiac and hepatic tissue to a severe septicemia model. In short, we aim to simplify future therapeutic hurdles with easy alternative interventions with negligible side effects.
